Blaine County Sheriff's Office Deputies visited Canton Schools on Friday, January 22nd.  With the New Year came a New Sheriff, Travis Daugherty.  One of Daugherty's goals was to be more active in all schools in Blaine County.  This visit was one of many future visits that will be continuing throughout the school year at all the public schools in Blaine County.

During the visit, K9 Deputy Western led his K9 "Harley" around to multiple classrooms and lockers.  The searches were targeted towards the possession of illegal drugs and tobacco as well as familiarizing the students with the K9 and its purpose for being there.  The deputies also educated students on the hazards of drug use as well as answered questions that any of them had.  Deputy Porter and Deputy Wilder were also there during the visit speaking to the students and answering any questions.

The visit was a success and school admin and the deputies all look forward to more future visits.
